Balmain Baroque

We are a 5 piece (baroque band, based in Balmain (where else), Sydney Australia.

We do about 2 shows a year.

The band was formed in 1995 by Amanda Muir and Tony Eyers. Our current lineup is:

• Amanda Muir: Soprano, baroque flute
• Tony Eyers: recorder
• Bonita Silva: violin
• Nazli Sendergut: cello
• Donn Mendoza: harpsichord

We have our own harpsichord, essentially the 6th member of the band. We play at baroque pitch, a semitone lower than modern pitch. The music just sounds better at the lower pitch. Plus it is easier on our singers…
